Carbine Course

Defensive Carbine Course is an entry level course designed for students who seek to develop their fundamentals carbine skills. Students will develop a solid understanding on defensive carbine shooting fundamentals, carbine set up, zeroing, gear considerations, and practice effective shooting drills. By the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and marksmanship skills needed to effectively use a carbine defensively. This is a 6-8 hours course that will challenge you physically and mentally.

  • Weapons conditions for rifle
  • Optic and co-witness BUIS considerations
  • Zeroing, offsets and holdovers techniques
  • Firing positions
  • Carbine fundamentals
  • Emergency and Tactical reloads
  • Carbine drills
  • OODA Loop
  • Malfunctions and clearing procedures
  • Stress shoot 

What to bring:

  • Carbine with sling
  • Optic or iron sights
  • 250-300 rounds
  • 3-4 magazines
  • Magazine pouches 
  • Eye and ear protection 
  • Hat and neck gaiter or scarf
  • Maintenance cleaning gear
  • Sharpie
  • Water and snacks 

Optional gear:

  • Backup sights for optic
  • Plate carrier/chest rig
  • knee pads
  • Gloves

Wear something comfortable (check weather and hydrate), it’s an outdoor range. Don’t wear your Sunday best!
