Carbine Fundamentals

Carbine Fundamentals is designed for students who seek to develop their basic carbine skills. Students will develop a solid understanding on carbine utilization and increase their skill set by the end of this course. Students will be able have a full understanding of the fundamentals and how to use a carbine efficiently. This course is approximately is 6 hours.

  • Safety rules
  • Fundamentals
  • Isolation of the fundamentals
  • Weapons conditions for rifle
  • Proper zeroing and zero utilization
  • Optic and co-witness BUIS considerations
  • Understending holdovers
  • Holdovers techniques
  • Ready positions
  • Standar firering positions
  • Reloading fundamentals
  • Carbine drills
  • Malfunctions and clearing procedures
  • Close and mid range engagement

What to bring:

  • Carbine with sling (i.e. AR 15 223/556 or other caliber, AK 47, or something similar.)
  • Optic or iron sights
  • 200-300 rounds
  • 3-4 magazines
  • Magazine pouches 
  • Eye and ear protection 
  • Hat
  • Med kit (IFAK)
  • Maintenance cleaning gear
  • Sharpie
  • Water and snacks 

Optional gear:

  • Backup sights for optic
  • Neck gaiter or scarf
  • Plate carrier/chest rig
  • Knee pads
  • Gloves

Wear something comfortable (check weather and hydrate), it’s an outdoor range.
